Only with the title of the post you can know about I’m talking.
I like reflexes, it’s something “surrealist” in photography. If you are creating a portrait, a mirror can be very useful.
Today I like to talk about reflexes in street photography. It’s easy in your city find buildings, shops with windows, doors made with crystals.
This photography was taken in Zona Forum in Barcelona city. I recommended this area to take photos about architecture, this place is amazing. Walking inside a building see this reflexes and I can’t stop thinking about how to use it.
Well, for me the important thing is the symmetry between the build, and the image in the crystals.
I moved until find the right perspective, normally I take several photos to different highs. The second part is the exposure. You know that cameras don’t “understand” the light like our eyes. This is the tonal range. Ok, no problem. The important it’s the builds in the street, and I use the ceiling and the floor to create some mysterious image. If you sense the light in the buildings of the street, the ceiling and floor will be in darkness, and the eyes go to watch the street and the reflex, perfect.
The camera I use was Olympus E-M5MarkII with 12-50mm F3.5-6.3 lens, and was setup with this:
- ISO 500
The processed was very simple, only lights, some darkness was adjust and focus. The important part was to crop the photography, in the top and the bottom. I do this because I want to show the image more “panoramic”
