Waiting for the right moment

Contrast in the city, wePhotography is a lot of things: passion, creative, techniques, etc. How to setup the camera, to understand how to use the light it’s part of this amazing art. Yes, photography it’s an art.

Sometimes we forget something very important, photography its wait. Wait the moment when something happens, something that we want to capture with our cameras to express anything.

This concept it’s useful to any kind of photography, but in street photography make sense.

This photo I think that show that I want to express in this post. The photographer in the photo was very busy in his world, thinking about exposure, composition you know what I mean. The old woman is asking  people some money to buy food. It’s a contrast between two different worlds.

If you want to take images like this, with a message, you can follow this recommendation:

  • Don’t be shy; I know that it’s difficult take photos in the street to unknown people. For this be discreet and polite is important.
  • Use a small camera. It’s better, because you are more discreet that if you use a big reflex. For this photo I use a Fuji Film X20.
  • To setup de camera, I use aperture mode, with a big aperture and high ISO. Street photography it’s fast, we can’t spend time adjust our cameras.
  • Go to the street, and walk and very important: pay attention, look, thing about what happen in this moment, look for an interesting person and follow it, but be discreet. If you feel that you have any problem, don’t worry, leave the place.

To finish one advice, street photography it’s amazing in black and white.
