How to give texture to a photo

Photography with many textures is also a compass sundial. Formerly used by sailors ship to reach its destination.

I find it difficult to explain the concept of texture in a photograph , but I think if you look at this photo you will know what I mean.

Give effectively giving texture as ” roughness ” . Today, the camera manufacturers spend much effort and money by providing maximum sharpness and clarity in the photos, and that’s fine as what areas in , but if we want to be creative , some texture help create a more striking image .

Those who started taking photos in the analog era, remember those photos with grain came naturally . Currently , the texture can do in post -processing.

I recommend two ways, the first would be to add grain , exactly. Editing programs usually give an option to add it. On the net there are many tutorials how.

Another option is to overlay the original image , another image for example of a rough wall , and play with the blending mode , opacity, etc until you find what that you be looking for.

The photo of this post is hico well , a picture of a very rough concrete wall with many colors and contrasts are superimposed .
